We Are Origami: Introductions, Evolution and Unfolding

Welcome to our new look website and dedicated Journal, somewhere to chat about what we’re up to at We Are Origami. Here is where we will share personal stories and behind the scenes, sneak glimpses of wedding shoots and engagement sessions, educational materials and so much more.

Let’s begin with the biggest news of all: the rebrand. This rebrand coincides with 10 years in the industry and what a decade it has been. Throwing it back to 2011 where we started with Origami Creatives, things have come a long way since that baby phase. Our business has evolved, grown, developed and taken on a life of its own, growing organically from that newborn level where we were establishing our brand. We can still remember those sleepless nights and worrying times, finding our feet yet full of excitement.

Next came the toddler years. Building a name for ourselves within the wedding industry, rebranding to We Are Origami in 2014 and evolving our style but still adapting and learning.

 

In 2015 we found our feet and fell in love with film photography, developing our identity and deepening our understanding of our craft. By now we had a real sense of direction and understood what we wanted to be when we got older. This was our teenage rebellion – a time of discovery and defining ourselves (not to mention that fox logo that has been such a talking point for the past 5 years).And now here we are, a decade later. Thriving as young adults and finally entering maturity, looking back at how much we’ve grown yet still so excited at the future that is to follow. Now seemed the perfect time to refine our brand and define our direction, to add to our offerings, the work we do with family photography and lifestyle brands alongside the addition of videography.

Despite the changes in design and the different elements of all that we do, the one thing that has always remained strong is The Origami Ethos. Above everything, we have always come back to the three things that are woven into all that we do and at the heart of who we are:

  • Beauty
  • Moments
  • Romance

These are embedded at the heart of our brand and are behind everything we do. Enjoy our new brand and who we have become. Older, wiser but forever capturing beauty in the in-between.

What a decade it’s been. To all of our past couples and our new couples for 2021 and beyond, we cannot wait to capture your story.
